Update 9.1.6: Geo IP Auth, Onboarding PDFs
Functional changes at a glance
Changes and customizations in XELOS introduced in this release based on internal testing and customer feedback.
Administration: New authentication rule Geo IP Auth
The authentication methods are extended by a Geo IP rule, with which a black and whitelisting can be implemented.
When updating the System Tools, a current update of the Geo-IP information is also performed.
The update may therefore take about 20 minutes longer than usual due to the amount of data.
The new rule is available in the admin area under "Advanced Configuration":
Short explanation of the functions

Blacklisting: This method is used to specify the countries from which access should not be allowed.

Whitelisting: Listed countries are considered as authorized/desired

Hard Block Mode: Accesses are rejected with neutral HTTP 403 status message. The mode applies to every access and also checks existing/already logged in users and sessions.

Soft Block Mode: The mode only takes effect at login itself and does not check every single request. The user sees the login screen and is clearly informed that the login is not possible due to a GeoIP restriction. In this mode it is also possible to define exceptions via the order of rules.
Notes

IP to country mapping is based on Maxmind GeoLite database and is ~99.8% accurate (Geolocation Accuracy )

Internal or unknown IP addresses are not covered by the rule

Access via VPN or anonymization systems (Tor network) cannot be captured by the rule
DMS
A message is now displayed when the upload limit is exceeded.
CMS
CMS pages now also have a doclink that can be used to view the call statistics of the respective page.
User management
Onboarding PDFs can now be created.
- Via the user import: A check mark must be set at "Create onboarding PDFs:".
- Via the user account: When accessing a user, the PDF can be created here Authorized Devices and Apps under the item "Onboarding Authorization".
Other
Other changes are usually only relevant for a small target group of customers who have requested corresponding changes as part of a support ticket or feature request. The changes usually relate to a very specific use case.
Theme:
- Navigation Group Error Fix. Clicking on some groups (e.g. without Navigation Set) resulted in an error because the Navigation Group Tree could not be generated.
- XC-2835 Fix: Multiple Group Instances Project Flyouts
- XC-2939 Feature: Flyout Menu Scroll Indicator + Height Expand Option
- XC-2858 Fix: Backgroundupdate Overides Selected State
- When the backgroundupdate went through (e.g. by coming back from another tab after x minutes) the selection in the left navigation disappeared for non-groups. This also happened when manually reloading the page.
- Mobile Group Navigation Bugfix (Acme-Bug)
- When going to https://acme.poc.xelos.net in mobile mode and navigating to Workspace > HR, the navigation stopped working. You could no longer navigate to News, Forum, Documents etc.
- XC-2888: Open Form in Messenger Sidebar
- In the lookbook there is a function 'Send message'. When you click on it, the page is no longer refreshed, but the right sidebar with the messenger is opened in the frontend and the message form is called there.
- XC-2946 To-do deletion is now also available in the new theme.
CMS:
- XC-2867 Search with quotes works again.
DMS:
- XC-2881 DMS folder view is reloaded after file upload.
- XC-2893 Deelink is now resolved correctly
- XC-2945 In template at dropdown the first value is not saved
Groups:
- XC-2854 Split from groups works again
- XC-2922 Formatting for parts is now preserved
- XC-2934 Wiki pages are now copied correctly from group templates
- XC-2919 empty entry for group roles is now caught
- XC-2900 Permissions can be set in the DMS of a template again
